Jura can be reached by public transport, via Islay, either by Caledonian MacBrayne car ferry from Kennacraig or by regular, Loganair flights (operated on behalf of British Airways) from Glasgow Airport. You are then required to cross from Islay at Port Askaig via the Jura Ferry.

Road & Car Ferry

Take the A82 out of Glasgow or follow the M8 route over the Erskine bridge onto the A82.

Follow the A82 past Loch Lomond to Tarbert , then take the A83 through Arrochar, over the 'Rest and Be Thankful' to Inveraray, down Loch Fyne, passing through Lochgilphead and Tarbert. Five miles after Tarbert is the Ferry Terminal at Kennacraig.

The ferry crossing operated by Caledonian MacBrayne runs from Kennacraig to  either Port Askaig or Port Ellen on the Isle of Islay.

If arriving at Port Ellen you will need to make your way, by car or bus, to Port Askaig (21 miles) to board the Jura Ferry for the crossing to Feolin.

By Air:

There are regular scheduled flights to Islay from Glasgow Airport.  Timetables and further information is available from or by phoning British Airways 0141 222111.  The journey time is approx 40-50 minutes and offers spectacular views.

By Bus:

There is a daily connecting service to Kennacraig Ferry Terminal from Buchanan Street Bus Station in Glasgow  or telephone Scottish Citylink 08705 505050.
Information for buses running to Port Askaig from both the ferry port or the airport can be obtained from the Tourist Information Centre on Islay 01496 810254.
